Turkish Folk Dances Department

Our country has a rich musical culture that varies according to regions and traditional folk dances that have been ongoing for centuries. Turkish Folk Dances are an important form of cultural transmission that encompasses the customs, traditions, and history of the regions. Therefore, it is extremely important to transfer and maintain this cultural heritage of our country to future generations without deterioration. Mehmet Akif Ersoy University State Conservatory of Turkish Music, established in the light of this sensitivity and awareness, aims to contribute to the development of the Turkish folk dance culture of our country in general and to support the scientific and artistic development of Turkish folk dances on national/international platforms with the "Turkish Folk Dances" department planned to be opened within its body.

Tuition Fee: No Student Contribution Fee is paid within the normal program duration.

Education and Training Model:

Location of the Unit to Which the Program is Affiliated: Our department is located in the MAKÜ İstiklal Campus, in the State Conservatory of Turkish Music building. 

Location Where Education and Training Are Conducted: Our education and training activities are carried out in our classrooms located in the State Conservatory of Turkish Music building, MAKÜ İstiklal Campus.

Program Accreditation: Our program does not yet have any accreditation agreement.

Dormitory: There are girls' and boys' dormitories affiliated with the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution located within the İstiklal Campus of our university and in the city center. Additionally, accommodation services can be obtained from private student hostels and apartment flats in the city center of Burdur.
